Zorbing was invented in New Zealand by Dwayne van der Sluis and Andrew Akers who called their invention the"zorb". They formed the company Zorb Limited and set to work commercializing the new sport.

The business model of Zorb Limited is one of a worldwide franchise system. They do not sell "zorbs" to the general public, but rather lease them to franchisees.

Other manufacturers soon tried to make their own spheres, the quality of which was called into question. They seemed to have trouble getting the shape right, creating what looked more like giant doughnuts.

Our manufacturer has overcome these challenges and we are pleased to offer very high quality zorbing balls that are accually sphere shaped.

Zorbing, also known as sphering, is a relatively safe sport if common sense is put to use. The only serious injury we could find report of was a reporter who rolled down a ski slope in an inferior sphering ball and fractured her back.

Zorbing has taken a stong hold on many countries around the world, but has yet to get a firm foothold in the U.S.
